Stanford University High Altitude Balloon Team
Stanford University - Stanford, United States

Team Description

We are undergraduate students from Stanford University, have launched 10 balloons before, and are looking to do really cool new stuff with HABs.

Plan for launch

Our current goal for the year is to build a self-sustainable near-space balloon satellite that will cross the continental United States in the spring. It will be in contact with the ground via satellite, have a thermally controlled environment in the payload, employ the use of solar cells to regenerate power, have a remote cutdown mechanism, and more!

Why did you join?

We love that the GSBC creates a space for ballooners all over the world to get together, share ideas, and just talk about what they're working on. We also love the outreach component and the fact that there are so many young students getting involved with HABs because of this.
